Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are your shipping options?

We offer free shipping anywhere in Australia on orders over $50. For orders under $50, a flat fee of $10 is charged to help offset the high costs of postage.

2. What are your candles made of?

All of our candles are crafted from 100% pure, natural, sustainable Australian soy wax. We do not use any additives, stabilizers, preservatives, or fixatives. Our candle jars are specially designed to be thermally stable, ensuring they won't crack, break, or explode. Each candle batch  is tested for a complete burn time of over 40 hours to ensure quality.

3. What type of wicks do you use in your candles?

Our wicks are made of lead-free cotton with a paper core. They are non-toxic, safe, and sturdy, providing a clean burn for your enjoyment.

4. Can I reuse your candle containers?

Absolutely! Our candle containers make excellent home organizers. They can be repurposed for storing items like teabags, coffee pods, earbuds, and batteries.

The large and jumbo-sized candles can even serve as fruit salad or side bowls, and the large candles come with a walnut wood cap that doubles as a coaster. candles are very easily cleaned.

You can physically scrape out any remaining wick and waxes with a teaspoon or even a paddle pop stick discard that in the bin you can then place it in the dishwasher or hand wash it with hot soapy water just insuring that you have removed as much wax as possible so it doesn’t go in the draining system.

However again all the oils and fragrances are aquatic safe.

5. Do you make all the products yourself?

Yes, I personally design develop and make all the products myself using high-quality Australian ingredients. I have a dedicated team of testers to ensure that only the best go on sale and I have a chemist working with me to ensure safety and proper use of all products.

6. How can wick care improve my candle experience?

Proper wick care is essential for maximizing the performance of your candles. By following guidelines available on our blog, you can enhance the appearance of your candle and achieve up to 20% more burn time, saving you money in the long run.

7. What is your policy on exchanges and returns?

Your satisfaction is and always will be my number one goal . I offer free exchanges, returns, or refunds if you're not completely satisfied—even if the product has been used and you simply don’t like it. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we want to make things right.

8. How should I extinguish my candles?

Never blow out a candle, as this can damage furniture and produce excessive smoke. Use the lid provided (which is designed for this purpose) or a wick snuffer or dipper to extinguish the flame safely.

The best option is to use the lead provided and keep it closed until the next time you’re going to use the candle. This does two things one.

It prevents any smoke from the extinguished week to enter your lungs and two it stops any evaporation of fragrance and prevents moisture condensation on the wick and the top of the candle.

9. What’s the best way to light my candle?

Probably the most important fact in lighting your Candles is to ensure an adequate burn time each and every time. Therefore I recommend a minimum of three hours for a medium candle 4 to 5 hours for the larger Candles. This will ensure that the top layer is com

letely liquid and therefore will reset flat level and beautiful. This is an important step in preventing what’s not as tunnelling where melted wax coats the sides of the candle and are no longer in range of the heat and is a waste of wax. If this does happen it is definitely salvageable in a number of ways. There are numerous YouTube videos on this topic.

I’ve also done some explainer videos and blogs. The best thing to do is to use either a teaspoon or a wick-dipper (available to purchase in my four piece candle care sets), to either scrape the solid wax from the sides of the candle either back into the wax pool slowly and gradually or you can remove all the melted wax and use it as a wax melt or store it and add it back to the wax pool at another time.

The goal is to use all the wax and as soy is a natural product it needs to be looked after and often weeks need to be resented a task easily done again with a skewer a teaspoon or a wick dipper.

As far as igniting the week any method will work. I personally like using a long slim lighter as it will enable you to light the week regardless of the size or type of container and is also the safest compare to either matches or regular lighters. I don’t mind electronic lighters. I do have them for sale, but I still prefer gas which are also available.

10. Can I return my used candle jars?

Absolutely you can and what I want to ensure is that my carbon footprint is as low as possible and so ensuring all the products are used and recycled is very important to us.

The best way to recycle your Jake is mentioned above or you are welcome to bring your empty jars to any market that I attend.(as mentioned above Caulfield market and Abbotsford convent market.) and I will give you a discount on your next purchase.

I will then recycle that candle for you and either reuse it as a test candle or as one of my many storage vessels at home for everyday use.

11. Do you have a physical store?

We currently do not have a physical shop, but you can test our products at the Caulfield and Abbotsford Farmers Markets, or find a selection at Brolly Gift Store on Canterbury Rd, Heathmont.

12. Are you looking for stockists?

Yes, we are always open to collaborating with new stockists. If you're interested, please reach out!

13. Do you consider product donations for charity?

14. Can you help with corporate gifts or special occasions?

Definitely! I can guide you on selecting the right contents, containers, scents, and labels for corporate gifts, weddings, or memorials.

15. Are your perfumes dupes of other fragrances?

Our perfumes are not dupes; they are similar in profile to the original scents used as a guide. We use the highest quality low-odor perfumer's alcohol and premium, top-grade oils, without any colors, fixatives, or enhancers.

16. Where should I light my candle??

The reality is is that Candles involve flame and therefore there is always the potential for accidents to happen. By following a few basic rules you can minimise these issues. Firstly always keep out of reach of children meaning wherever your lit candle sits make sure that children are not able to reach it in anyway. Whilst the wax per se won’t burn you it’s obviously not ideal for a child. Never burn your candle near a door or a window opened all closed. My Candles do not contain UV stabilises and a number of components in Candles do turn yellow or slightly discolour when exposed to UV light. Whilst this will not affect the performance of the candle in anyway it is not very aesthetically pleasing And also ensure that it’s not in direct draft from an open window as you don’t want any wax to be blown or the candle knocked over by gust of wind?

My candle jars are very heat stable and although the Candles themselves will be warm they will not get hot to damage furniture however as the candle starts to burn towards the end the underneath of the candle does get warmer and therefore should not be used on delicate furniture. Encourage you to place the candle jar on a ceramic plate or a heat proof mat to see how the candle performs at your place. As my candles are made only from soy wax with no stabilises preservatives additives it means you’re working with a truly natural product that’s unadulterated. This means that there are differences in the way the candle burns depending on the local conditions such as humidity and temperature as well as particular fragrance used. Always keep an eye on how your candle is burning and make adjustments to the position of the week to ensure you are using all of the product.
