Candle Maintenance Tools

Maintaining your candles properly ensures a longer, more enjoyable burn. When lighting your candle (I recommend an electronic lighter) , allow it to burn long enough for the entire surface to melt, forming an even wax-pool - 2-3Hrs maximum. This prevents tunnelling, ensuring an even burn in subsequent uses.

On relighting,  trim the wick to approximately a quarter of an inch before each use to prevent excessive soot and uneven burning. I strongly recommend a wick trimmer as scissors can tear the wick and disturb the naturally spun fibres leading to an inefficient burn.  

Extinguish the flame using a snuffer to minimize smoke and soot. DO NOT blow the flame out - It not only introduces water into the candle, I will disturb the wax pool and may splash wax. Use a snuffer and replace the lid to suffocate the flame. 

Avoid burning candles for more than four hours at a time to prevent overheating and potential hazards. My candles DO NOT contain any preservatives, stabilizers, UV stabilizers or beeswax. Store candles away from direct sunlight and drafts to maintain their integrity. With these simple steps, you'll maximize the lifespan of your candles and savour their delightful fragrances with every use.
